| The energy market is rapidly changing. Climate protection, concerns about the security of energy supply, highly volatile energy prices and increased legislation are just a few examples that will add pressure on companies and authorities, especially to comply with the requirements of a carbon-constrained world. Environmental pressure to implement renewable energy supplies and energy saving measures will only increase in the coming decades.
Maastricht University School of Business and Economics has developed a course in cooperation with Ecofys in which professionals will be enabled to get familiar with these challenges, and moreover, learn how to adequately respond as a firm, as an institution and as a policy maker. The course directly links the knowledge of energy and economic sector with management skills, enhancing the ability to implement sustainable solutions into energy sector. Companies and authorities will experience an increasing need to consult energy professionals.
This course qualifies you to be one of those professionals with good career opportunities in the energy sector.

Target group
The course is for individuals who work or have just completed their studies at the university or for students who will be completing their studies within a year. It is an essential requirement that all students hold a good basic knowledge of the natural sciences. A bachelor or equivalent degree in one of the natural sciences, engineering or in environmental sciences is sufficient. You will need a basic knowledge of energy issues and an interest in business sciences. You will also need communicative English skills as all courses are taught in English.
Tuition fee
The tuition fee is €6950, course materials and meals are included. Travel expenses and hotel accommodation (ca. € 125 per night) are not included in the tuition fee and must be covered by the course participants.

Start date
The lecture sessions will start in September 2010 but the e-learning modules can be started right away. Every module starts at 17.00 hrs on Thursday and ends at 17.00 hrs on Friday
